Student eligibility to Seoul International School is determined by the following factors:
1. All students applying to SIS on or after February 1st 2009 must meet one of the following conditions ...
- a. Be the child of a parent in possession of a valid foreign passport
OR
- b. Have lived overseas, consecutively or non-consecutively, for at least 3 years (1095 days)
2. Non-native English speakers who are proficient in the language yet need support may be admitted to SIS through our ESL support program. ESL support candidates are not normally admitted to SIS beyond grade 5.
3. All students applying to SIS should have high academic standards, excellent work habits and a strong motivation to learn.
4. Please note that SIS does not currently have the staffing or facilities to support students with special needs i.e. learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and profound physical disabilities.
5. Elementary students only:
- a. Junior Kindergarten students must be 4 years old before August 31 of the year in which they will be admitted to SIS
- b. Senior Kindergarten students must be 5 years old before August 31 of the year in which they will be admitted to SIS
- c. Grade 1 students must be 6 years old before December 31 of the year in which they will be admitted to SIS
